FIELD REPORT

Placed upon an incline, this relatively small formation appeared not to have had too many visitors, and so provided overall, quite a nicely raised floor display.

Both circles, joined by a wide avenue, were swirled clockwise. The smallest circle had a thin path leaving it at approx. 90 degrees, which abruptly ended at around 30 ft, going nowhere. Whilst the larger circle presented a nice central swirl, the smaller one provided a surprise ... a beautifully executed S-shaped double central swirl!

Many of the formations this year are following a retrospective theme, & this dumbbell is no exception, for it is strikingly similar to the dumbbells encountered during the '94 season.

Crop circle near Whitstable, Kent off A299

As we were returning from the beach, on Aug 6 at approx. 4.30 pm, we spotted a crop formation in a field off the A299 near the village of South Street, between Herne Bay & Whitstable. It is situated near a bridge & clearly visible from the A299 heading towards London (on the RHS of the road). Unfortunately we couldn't investigate it but it looked like a dumbbell with 2 circles - one 25% bigger than the other with connecting lines. The smaller circle had another line coming out from it at an angle. It was about 50 - 70 ft long. We have since heard that strange lights had been reported in Canterbury area by Meridian TV station. Joyce Galley of CCCS
has been informed and hopefully will arrange photos & field report etc.
