We discovered a new formation today
(Sunday 30th May); it's a couple of miles from the Owlesbury formation and not really near
any towns. It comprises a series of quarter circles, pathways and small circles, arranged
roughly in a S-shape. My friend (and co-discoverer) Peter Ainsworth will be doing a
diagram which we'll forward. It looked at least a week to ten days old, judging by the
degree to which the crop had grown back, and barely visited if at all. Though on a sloping
field facing the road, it is very faint by now and quite hard to discern from the road.
The 'style' of the construction / crop lay etc is very similar to the recent Owlesbury
formation. The crop is barley and is laid anticlockwise.
