UPDATE
I was very kindly informed me of two crop formations in Kent, which Joyce
Galley and I visited yesterday. Both are in adjacent fields of wheat at the base of chalk
scarp at Trottiscliffe. Dated 19-20 June, no evidence of anything unusual on the
night in question was noted by nearby residents. Reported in the Kent Messenger of 25 June
1999
One consists of 43 circles, all clockwise, in three arcs of 12 with diminishing diameters,
centred on 3 sets of 3 and 1 central. Some of the circle's centres were offset from
geometrical centres and clearly the centres had all been much more heavily impressed that
the outer parts. Some standing centres were noted, but since the formation was some 10
days old and had had a number of visitors, it was difficult to comment on how the original
lay had been in the centres of most of the circles.
The other consisted of 3 large circles/ovals with arcs overlapping at a central point
where they all thicken. Have not yet visited the latter. Diameters approx 250 and 600 ft
respectively. To be measured up in detail later. Soil samples have been taken for analysis
by ADAS. The farmer was not happy about the formations on his land, attributing them
to hoaxers, and is reluctant to allow visitors entry. However both can be seen clearly
from the top of the chalk scarp at Trosley Country Park.
Weather has so far been too poor to allow overflight, but images from overlooking scarp
will be available next week.

We have two more confirmed large formations in Kent, near
Trottiscliffe. These appeared during the early hours of June 20th and were seen at 6.0a.m.
that morning. Investigations are in progress and details will be forwarded s.a.p.when the
aerial shots are available. The farmer is not pleased and does not welcome visitors.
