A large annular ring in immature Barley.
In a neighbouring barley field to the single 60 feet Oil Seed Rape circle is a ring about 100 feet in diameter and probably about 15 feet thick with a key like bit added on to it. It looked neater than the rape one from the air. A proper survey is still to be done.
UPDATE 15/06/99
The Toot Balden barley formation was surveyed on 27th May. By then the barley had grown up so that the top of it was only about 6 inches lower thanthe top of the barley outside the formation. The ring was 104 feet in diameter and twelve feet thick and the appendage was 57 feet long and 8 feet thick. You could still tell which way the crop flowed, it was clockwise in the ring and away from the ring in the appendage. A reaction occurred when this formation was dowsed.

In the next field up (1) in green barley, a wide ring with long appendage and key ending
pointing West. Attempted survey on June 3rd, but crop had recovered to within 6ins of
normal growth. Must have been formed around May 15th and been one of the earliest
formations in Barley. We established clockwise flow in the ring which was about 12ft wide

complex key ending measuring 26ft across at the very end.
