Circlemakers on Holiday? Sat on a chalky hillside perched above a chalk figure astride a horse. Looking down on a crop circle formation I could for the life of me have been in Wiltshire. I was however holidaying in Dorset looking across Weymouth Bay. The formation is just outside the village of Preston, Weymouth on the A358 to Osmington. It can be seen from the road and the chalk ridge and has already been visited. The formation could be up to two weeks old. |

All images by Kevin Constant Copyright 1999 The Main circle and surrounding ring are laid clockwise with the addition of a `spade head` off the ring. The lay is generally tidy and the edges are crisp. It is once again a reminder of the early 90s formations that I have visited almost exclusively this year. The field again contained heavy wind damage. The surrounding fields particularly near the footpath contained small grapeshot circles which I suspect are people trying their hands at crop circles having seen the formation. Once again a wonderful location to sit, stretch and write making my 6 am holiday start well worthwhile. Reported by Kevin Constant. |
