A friend of mine, who I have not seen for some time, has related to me that whilst on holiday on the Isle of Wight, last August 1999, he happened upon a crop circle (It's strange, but when I met up with him just before his holiday, he  mentioned that he had never seen a crop formation, and that he had always wanted to see one!)

Aware of a 'No Trespassing' sign nearby, he was persuaded not to enter the field, so no interior  information is known.  As you can see, it's a dumbell shape, consisting of 3 circles linked by a central pathway. As far as I can tell, the photo seems to suggest that the furthest circle has a smaller diameter in comparison to the others, which I would imagine would be of a similar size.

Although this formation isn't exactly a ground-breaking heart stopper, its importance may lie in the fact that this is the first that's appeared on the Isle of Wight in a very long time.
