This formation is close by to the famous crop Circle public House The Barge at Honey Street and from first reports it is another Cube like formation. The season of 1999 will be remembered for many things about the formations, but one aspect will be that it was the year of the Cube. This is the second major formation to include a Cube design; the first was at Allington some four weeks before. It's position within the field meant that you could actually see it from the Barge Inn Camp Site, about 500 yards from the formation. Short walk down the Canal and you would come across a design, which included a three, dimensional Cube, (floating) with a sphere placed inside. What was so interesting about this design, was that it only worked from one particular point of reference seen from the air. Placed at what appears to be the top of the formation, is a small avenue coming off the outer perimeter of flattened crop, which then appears to penetrate the sphere inside, creating a semi-circular design. Turn the formation upside down, and the design doesnt work (as seen in our own aerial images). As you are now aware, I made reference to the work of Escher within the Allington formation, but this Cube and Sphere moves away from his work, as you can only view the formation within its intended three dimensional perspective. The radius of the semi-circle placed within the Sphere, is 20ft, with a clockwise rotation. The avenues that make up the cube and the sphere are all the same width, which are 3.5ft. The outer ring surrounding the central design is 10.5ft in width. The inner ring creating the Sphere has a clockwise rotation, with the entire cubes avenues running in also a clockwise direction. This design I felt, only worked from the air, as the ground shots dont unfortunately do it justice. The question is now, how will they elaborate on the Cube concept, and what does it actually represent? Some people actually believe, we are moving into a different dimension of experience.
