Once again we found ourselves revisiting this
wonderful picturesque location for the crop circle phenomenon, in the Meon Valley between
the villages of West & East Meon.
In 1997, we had a very impressive 'Ant' design situated below Henwood. In 1999, in a field
just over from the 97' formation, we have a six fold geometry shape in Oil Seed Rape.
The design itself has been there for a few days, as the crop was recovering rapidly due to
the improved weather. This made reporting on the overall floor construction rather
difficult, but from our observations we could see there was evidence of breakage from the
base, and at certain positions up the stem. However, not on the same scale as the
Woodborough Hill formation.
The centre within the central circle was extremely messy in appearance, this may have been
due to visitors before us, but the overall floor lay was a disappointment, but its was
quite articulate with regard to the shape itself. The outer section of crop around the
perimeter was flowing in a clockwise rotation, with a number of broken and snapped stems,
some of them completely severed from their bases.
An intriguing formation, set within a beautiful setting of south eastern Hampshire.
