FIELD REPORT
Our second local formation on the Duchy of Cornwall land, appeared on the next day from the first Corston formation. This more elaborate (and completed) design appeared on Independence Day, or as Nostradamus believed "The End of the World" day. It was a good job we werent all vaporised by a meteor, or by tidal waves or Earthquakes, otherwise we would never had the chance to see this most elegant formation :-)
The second pattern to appear near Corston, was located in the adjacent field from Corston 1 formation. What was so interesting about this design was that it had the same overall dimensions as its sister in the next field. I measured the internal triangle, which was set out by the crossover points of each of the three rings. Each side measured approximately 100 feet, which was the same overall dimension of the other pattern in the next field.
The internal floor pattern was also highly interesting. In a few of the triangle sections, especially in the section at the bottom of the formation (as seen on the aerial image) there were two centres present. Spread about six-foot apart, the crop was slightly raised around each of them, with a three directional floor lay, which is mirrored in each one of the triangular sections, around the formation.
The design certainly had continuity from the previous formations, and I am sure this was expressed and appreciated by Rolf Harris, who also visited this formation on the first weekend of their appearance. He probably saw both of them together on that Sunday, and we would appreciate his reaction to them.
