Pole shots by Stuart Dike Copyright 1999 Click on Thumbnails to enlarge Only a couple of days after the Marksbury formation, we heard of another formation below the slopes of Penny Quick Hill, nr Combe Down in Bath. This was the location for the Oil Seed Rape circles from last year, and was almost placed in the exact same position in the field as those circles. This latest formation was most definitely a contemporary of the Marksbury formation, with further additions. This time, we have a cluster of joined triangular sections placed in the central part of the overall design. Its outer merged circles are the same as the Marksbury formation, and are both on a similar scale. Again this land belong to the Duchy of Cornwall, who is in fact Prince Charles. We are unsure if he is aware that he has quite a number of formations on his land, but he may find them of interest. The design on Penny Quick Hill was very well constructed, and has the same feel as the Marksbury event. As I write this report, further designs have appeared in the general area, based on similar theme, with triangular sections included. Report by Stuart Dike |
