FIELD REPORT
The Crop Circle Connector once again found themselves revisiting a location, which has been well established as a hunting ground for the phenomenon since 1991. Over half a dozen formations have appeared below the ancient hills that look over the town of Wroughton, near Swindon, but these latest designs have to be regarded as one of the most spectacular to appear since the Tetrahedron in 1991. They are the first to be made in young Barley at Barbury, very close to the field with the (Tree of life) in 1997. The main design is a strong resemblance to the Menorah, which is used in Jewish worship, and is seen as the most comprehensive biblical symbol of the church. But this design appears to have slight alterations, especially at the base, where we find spikes instead of a normal base. This is certainly a follow on from the Cabalistic Tree of life, and if we are to interpret this design as we see it, then what could be located within this field could be representing the seven spirits of God. Its meaning is quite complex, but it is referenced within the bible as the following: And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might , the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord." Isa. 11:2 Could this latest design have a significance towards what could be humanities path to ultimate wisdom, its a interesting thought and may connect future designs to this theory? Situated just above the design and placed at an unusual angle to the Menorah, and what many are now calling the Scarab Beetle. Obviously Ancient Egyptian in origin, but nevertheless biblical in nature, and represented the creator god Atum, "he who came forth" and was thought to push the sun across the sky everyday. Unfortunately due to the rapid growth of these two formations, the crop had recovered quite considerably, so many details of the floor construction has sadly been lost. However judging by the amount of stems still intact and the complete lack of evidence of mud I would surmise that the original condition was extremely good. I can however give you the rotations of the circles themselves. If we start at the very base of the Menorah, the very bottom circle has an anti clockwise rotation, with the main stem flowing towards the base from the very top circle. The second circle from the base has an anti clockwise rotation with a raise nest centre. If we start from the outer left side of the Menorah; the top circle has anticlockwise rotation. The second top circle from the left has an anti clockwise rotation. The third circle from the left has also an anti clockwise rotation, which had the best of the centres. The forth circle at the very top of the main axis has a clockwise rotation. If we move towards the right hand side of the formation, the rotations of the circles change to clockwise. What significance this has is not understood at this stage, but nevertheless must have some meaning from the left to right. These two formations looked quite glorious in the evening summer light, as we stood on the hill overlooking them, and may have a profound meaning towards the path of initiation, just in the same way the Cabalistic Tree of Life represented in 1997. We await future designs possibly based on these latest formations. Report by Stuart Dike |

I looked up the menorah in the women's encyclopaedia of symbols and guess what it said? That the oldest meaning of the menorah is the Seven Sisters, better known as the Pleiades!!! Seems this star grouping has appeared before. Could be significant. June Mewhort, Toronto, Canada |

Further thoughts by Francine Blake The Menorah is a very ancient universal symbol. Although it is associated with the Jewish Nation because they are still using this symbol, it is not specifically Jewish; it was known and used by many other races. For example, it is carved on a mountainside in Peru near as part of the Nasca Lines. The symbol refers to levels (or dimensions) of Being and Consciousness. There are
many aspects to the candelabrum at Barbury Castle which is very close to, but not exactly
like the Menorah as it has added symbolism to it. The circle in the middle of the Cosmic Pillar links five circular dots together in a
horizontal line that ends with a symbol that looks very much like the ancient Egyptian
symbol usually associated with the Goddess Hathor (Osiris = Earth mother or Earth Goddess).
A very ancient Gaia symbol if you like. This is interesting because the number five, or
five-fold geometry, has always referred to human beings (well illustrated by Leonardo Da
Vinci's famous drawing of a man in a five pointed star, or a pentagram). A human being is
sometimes described as "a tree with five branches". So here we have a line of
five dots (human beings) connected to an ancient symbol of the Earth mother for added
measure. The horizontal line indicates the material level and is related to time (going
from past to future). (The full article will appear in the July issue of
the spiral) |
