This was a beautiful and meticulously presented little Formation -- the first I've seen in Wiltshire/Hampshire that was completely in OATS. The laid areas between each of the flower petals were graced with small yet lovely tufted Circles -- a delightful surprise! -- unfortunately, they are barely suggested on the aerial above. If my ground photos of these little-Circle-gems turn out, I'll zip one off for inclusion on this page.

The grain was beautifully laid: all seed heads were aligned in parallel, and lovely Perimeter Stalks (those angled stalks of grain seen at all inner boundaries where laid stalks meet standing ones) were present in profusion.

As our visit coincided with a glorious sunset, our small group enjoyed a most pacific respite from the day's bustle, and we gratefully soaked in the lovely Avebury Avenue ambiance from this most unique of vantage points.

A heartfelt 'Thank You' to the farmer of this field for the placement of the 'Honesty Box', enabling Researchers and visitors access to this delightful Formation in return for a small entrance fee donation!
