Another Dragon larva. In the same field as the 1991 Dolphin

This seems to have grown another grapeshot - or at least, it contains a grapeshot which I can't make out in any of the photographs / diagrams I've seen. The 'style' of crop-flattening / lay is similar to the rest of the formation. It's right next to the trodden path that leads from the edge of the field and into the largest circle.

Field Report

West Woods is a large wooded area between Clench Common and the small Wiltshire Village of Lockeridge. Its surrounding fields have seen a number of formations since the early nineties, the most celebrated being the 1991 "Dolphin".

This particular area has been a haven for Crop Circles, and this year was no exception, as a wonderful formation appeared almost in the same position as the 1991 Dolphin design, placed up in the corner of the tree lines of West Woods.

We now have no less than four formations within half a mile of each other, three of them are positioned on Lurkeley Hill, the latest one below the trees at West Woods. The formation is quite a beauty, and is definitely the best of the bunch, indicating a progression from the Dragon Larva's, which have been appearing since May. This very latest design is the largest of the three to form, with a superior floor construction.

The formation is estimated to be 300ft in length from nose to tail, with over 35 circles within its design . The floor construction was quite exceptional, the largest of the circles (positioned at the head) featured a two directional lay, both were flowing in the same direction, but at slightly different angles, which resulted in the inner section forking into the outer section. A wonderful feature, which indicated to myself the rate, the crop had to be flattened to create this type of detail, in fact the whole of the formation was flattened very hard down onto the surface of the field.

The top circle contained a semi ring feature which merged into the largest circle, flowing in a clockwise rotation. The tail itself
contained thirteen circles in total, with four large diminishing circles which then reduced to nine much smaller circles all roughly the same size and rotation in a clockwise spiral. Each of the circles had very thin curtain of crop separating one from the other, unfortunately this feature was soon lost, due to people walking through.

Place on the end of the tail itself, were four split tails, with even smaller circles, ending with two small ringed circles, again in a
clockwise rotation. Also worth mentioning were scattered Grapeshot circles positioned below the formation along the tramline.

A very impressive formation, located across three tramlines on a slight angle to the field, which brought back fond memories of the 1991 Dolphin formation which was located slightly further up the field.

While I was taking the photographs, I had an unusual pressing sensation in the back of my head, creating a mild migraine, something that only came on within the formation. I haven't had that feeling since the early days back in 1990-91.

We have been receiving quite a number of email from people who feel that these designs are planetary in interpretation, this maybe the case, and I do not wish to offend anyone who has this theory, its just that when you are reporting on a formation of this type, its easier to describe it as a creature rather than any planetary body. Thank you.

Some very strange UFO reports in Wiltshire last night. West Woods, Lockeridge Formation appeared.
Colin Andrews - report #3

While investigating the new formation which appeared at West Woods, Lockeridge this morning (Friday 10th July), I was approached by several people excited about what they had heard about UFO activity to the south of this field last night.

Within a short time, I met three researchers entering the field, one from the USA, another from Czech Republic and the third from England. They said they had witnessed the extraordinary events over East Field, Alton Barnes to the south, at around 11.0 PM last night, the night this West Woods formation appeared, and the same day as the spectacular Snowflake design showed up.

Several army helicopter were buzzing the field and general area, some with no lights or beacons showing. Then one was seen to be chasing a small illuminated sphere over the East Field. The helicopters were using powerful spot lights to track the object. They also bathes observers in light during the nearby and multiple observed events.

During today, I also received a telephone call in my UK office from a farmer on the edge of Salisbury Plain, to the east of Alton Barnes who is used to army aircraft. At 9.05 PM last night he observed a column open up in the cloud from high level into the
lower level cloud cover, as if something large had come through it. The cloud closed up very quickly, without an object of any kind seen. He said he had not seen anything like it before. It was like a glass tube was inserted through the clouds, and inside the tube no cloud existed - this was then removed quickly and everything returned to normal.

I have been told by at least nine people today, that they saw flashes coming from the sky over the Lockeridge area - no lightning was reported from the British Met office in southern England last night.

So I do not know what to make of all this - but many people were put out by what they saw.
