Near the Junction of A361 and A316.
The formation is in Barley
Located at junction of A361 and A371 turn to Glastonbury. Discovered 20th June, locals said it formed on evening of 19th. (OS 633415) Formation is in Barley at top of field visible from A361. It appears to be a six petalled flower with a ring around it. The outer ring is approx. 60ft in diameter and laid anti- clockwise. The lay is generally messy. The petals have laid outwards towards the outer circle. The inner circle at the centre of the formation is also laid anti-clockwise. Some stalks are still standing and the laid ones are mostly bent. I was not the fist to visit the formation as there were signs of entry. The diagram on the Internet looks similar but shapes can be difficult to access so I look forward to seeing aerial photo's. I have taken photo's and will send them on to the CCCS.
Local homeowner said it formed on 19th June
as somebody was having some fun. They said the farmer knew of it's existence and it was OK
to visit briefly.Footpath gave access to field though signs of entry were visible. The
formation appears to be a six petalled flower with a outer circle in diameter about
50ft.(Ariel photo will confirm design) The diagram on Internet looks pretty accurate. The
formation was about 20ft from footpath at the top end of field at furthest point from
road. The outer circle had been laid anti-clockwise with some stalk still standing and no
signs of gap-seeking. The stalks had been mostly broken not bent. The petals had been laid
outwards towards the outer circle and close-up were untidy. The central circle was also
anti-clockwise laid. The crop was barley.
