A Field Report.

Just when you thought it was safe to leave Etchilhampton for 1997, a new formation appeared directly in the next field along from the Hill. Placed closer to the Road between Coate and Etchilhampton, this long Pictogram and a single circle were throw backs to the early formations from 1990 onwards.

The Pictogram itself spanned across 5 tramlines so it was atleast 300ft long, and incorporated a head circle with a arm coming out, with a two finger fork placed on the end. Further down the formation was a central area, which included a halo segment inside, with the most exquisite circle centre. Placed directly at the other end, is a cluster of circles and small rings, surrounded by natural wind damage within the field. There are also two key shapes placed on each side of this small ring.

The two circles placed on the connecting avenue are joining each other, and have a wonderful flow to them, as they merge into each other. In fact, the whole formation had a wonderful flowing floor pattern, with the edges of the crop positioned 45 degrees, creating a feeling of speed to the whole construction. Further inspection showed that a number of multi layering were present at certain points within the formation.

The avenue itself, wasn't complete shape, it slightly meandered, and was in keeping with the whole feeling to the design.
