Below Cley Hill, West of Warminster, July 14th, 250 feet, Wheat. The design formed around a small circle that was some weeks old. The pre-existing circle may be genuine. The hexagonal border is the same as the one on the Stonehenge Snowflake. The placement of the rings of the rings is slightly irregular - approximately as shown.

A field report by the Crop Circle Connector.

Cley Hill, an Ancient Hill Fort near the famous town of Warminster, renowned of it's UFO sightings in the 60's and 70's, is no stranger to the Crop Circle phenomenon. Indeed, many circles have appeared on its sloping fields, stretching back to possibly the 60's when Arthur Shuttleworth researched the Warminster Thing, and reported strange spiralled nest's in the fields below.

The Hill Fort of Cley Hill, dominates the landscape of Warminster, its hard not to miss this strange hill, with an ancient burial mound situated on it's summit, resembling a fifties type flying saucer.

For nearly one week, a single circle lay in its wake, facing towards the relief road, which outskirts the town itself. On the 14th of July, this 30ft circle, transformed into a huge geometric formation, yet to be established (Aerial's soon). The overall length was over 200ft, and included twelve pathways leading from the central section. The whole formation was a six sided Hexagon, set inside a large circle.

The floor construction seemed very mechanical in appearance, this has to be mentioned, as there was a large presence of mud on the stems as well. Nevertheless, it was extremely well made, with each main pathway splitting off into a fork feature as they entered the surrounding section. The central circle had some intricate construction layering producing a flower design surrounding the circle. This floor pattern had muti layering flattened in different directions producing the inner section. A single pathway was noticeable surrounding the six sided shape.

The most fascinating fact about this formation is that it appeared later after the central circle. What were the circlemakers telling us here? Perhaps the time wasn't right to create this pattern, when the first circle arrived.

Brian Hocken, the Framer of this land, was one of the people I met in this formation on the evening of the 14th of July. I would like to thank him for his kindness for letting us access his field to bring this report. While we were discussing this formation, I asked him if he had experienced anything unusual in the area, after all this was the UFO capital of the world some 30 years ago! Indeed, he had two experiences he was glad to share with me, and this is were we pick up this story.

In October 1989, Brian was entering the field to carry out a normal routine inspection of his field. Brian had at that time a trustee Jack Russell Dog, that always came with him in this cab, as they drove around his land. They entered the file and all seemed to be fine, when suddenly the Dog started to Bark, and wanted to leave the Cab, as it seemed that it had seen something outside. Brian let the Dog out, thinking that it had seen an animal of some description. The Dog ran out, and started to chase after this object, but could only been seen by the Dog, not from Brian. This really puzzled him, as the Dog was swiping at thin air it appeared. He managed to contain the Dog, and got it back into the Cab, when again, the same thing happened, the Dog gave chase to this invisible object. Is it possible that the Dog could only see this object, but not by us. This will remain a mystery.

In 1996 Brian had a 40ft Single Circle again below Cley Hill. On a routine Spraying exercise through the field, Brian's Tractor cut out as soon as he entered the circle, (Placed directly on a tramline) The Tractor could not be started again, until it had passed the circle. This was the first time that the Tractor had done this, Brian couldn't understand to this day why the electric's failed at that point. Again, was there a connection with the phenomenon? Both these events are placed within the whole mystery, as the seems to be a strong case, for related side effects from their appearance.

The Crop Circle Connector would like to thank Brian Hocken, and his family for granting access to his field. He will be allowing entry at £1.50 per person. Please respect the Farmer's land when entering.

You may be interested to know there is a single circle formation in a field just below Cley Hill (Warminster side). We noticed it yesterday (Saturday). Cheers

Report by email by Lisa Brooks.

We visited the crop circle yesterday evening at around 8:30pm. It was just a single circle, around 20ft in diameter.

This morning however, it has changed from a boring circle to a wonderful "Pictogram?". It is HUGE (I have never seen a circle before, so it may be tiny on the scale of things!)

At the time we were leaving Cley hill, around 9:15 PM there were several people on the hill and a few more arriving as we left. It was raining, overcast and going dark.
