CROP CIRCLES OF 1996

Updated Sunday 11th August 1996

Cley Hill, Nr Warminster, Wiltshire. Reported 20th July.

During our holiday in Wiltshire, on the 20th of July, the woman we stayed with told us of a crop circle at Cley Hill on the land of her brother-in-law. This farmer had told her that while he was driving his tractor on his land he had discovered the circle and the tractor suddenly stopped right in the middle of it.

On the 25th of July we drove past Cley Hill but could not find the crop circle. During the Crop circle Conference at Glastonbury we told Busty Taylor and Steve Alexander about this circle but neither of them knew anything about it. On the 29th of July we decided to climb Cley Hill and there it was: a simple circle at the bottom of Cley Hill and nobody seemed to have been in it yet! All of the stems had started to grow up again. In the centre a lot of the standing stems were broken not far from the top. We don't know what this means. The diameter of the circle is about seven meters.

Report and Greetings from Roeland Beljon and Nancy Polet (CCCS-Holland).
