Members of the Suffolk branch of the CCCS investigated a crop circle at the Bealings, near Martlesham, Suffolk this evening (25th July). The circle, which on a slope, is in ripe barley is shaped like a ring with a half-circle on, each of two opposite sides (like handles). The outside diameter of the circle is 18.8 metres with a flattened CW swirled ring of 2.3 metres width and standing crop in the centre.
The formation is easily visible from the A12 road, on the left-hand side going from the Felixstowe direction. There is a lay-by placed handily on the other side of the A12.
The farmer is certain that the circle, formed on Saturday night 20th July, is a hoax and it is indeed rather rough with broken stems and without nodal bending. A water line runs just above the circle and there are springs in the field.
