Preshute Down, nr Marlborough, Wiltshire. Formed May 18th.

A Pole shot by Stuart Dike. Copyright 1994.
A very lightly brushed "Fan" formation, in very young Wheat. It appeared probably sometime before the 18th of May, making it one of the very first formations in 1994. Unfortunately many of the photographs show the formation as you see it above, as it must have been a lot more defined when it first appeared. Set in the valley on Preshute down, very close to where the pictogram appeared in 1991, on the side of the hill. The ring around the the perimeter was a little ragged, but what was so interesting was that the floor construction on each blade was flowing into the centre, not from the centre outwards.
