1991 was the year I heard about crop circles. Here is a selection of the best of my photographs from that year. Unfortunately the aerial photographs were taken late in the season so the formations were beginning to look a little ragged.

This one arrived in a field over looking the East Field and Alton Priors. In this photograph, taken on 25th August, the formation is showing its age.

This formation appeared in the field at the foot of the hill. It is almost as old as the Alton Priors formation but in much better condition due to less visitors.

This formation appeared in the field south of the hill. It was known by the name the "Silbury Hill Cat". The two small ears coming from the head at the bottom of the photograph were added afterwards between August 10 and August 17.

This formation appeared in the village of Woodford, Northamptonshire in August. The central circle and rings were all swirled clockwise. It was very popular as a T shirt design.
Below is a photograph showing detail of the centre of the formation.

I was a little late getting to this one! However the farmer preserved this formation by leaving the outline in standing crop.
The next photograph was from the beginning of August, and shows the formation from the field entrance.

This formation was also known as the Manton Humanoid. It looked much better on the ground.
