This single ringed circle was found by a BBC
television crew driving past Silbury Hill on the 29th of June 1989. They contacted Colin
Andrews from their vehicle and later arranged to fly over the site to film it for a news
item.
When Andrews visited the formation, south of Silbury Hill, he found large amounts of
chalky soil on the tops of the plants. There was extensive damage to plants and a
great deal of surface soil was disturbed. The formation itself was irregular and not
as impressive as most found around that time.
