Mr. Tippett farms an area around the famous UFO village of Upton Scudamore, referred to many times during the 1960's UFO flap over the area of Warminster, Wiltshire.
At approximately 8.30 am on the 8th July, 1988 he heard a helicopter close by. Stepping out from behind the barn he was working in, he saw the aircraft hovering close to the surface of his wheat field over the other side of the road. It hovered for some minutes and was clearly looking at something in his field. He started to walk towards the spot, when the helicopter lifted and flew away. When he reached the field, he discovered what the attention was being given too. Three perfect circles were etched into his crop. One was measured to be 9.8 metres diameter, another at 6.45 metres and the last was 15.9 metres.
When Andrews arrived a few hours later after receiving a telephone call from the farmer, he found many broken plants and dried soil film on the surface of some plants.
