Using the Andrews cataloguing system, this is a type 5 pattern. It was found by Dr. Terrence Meaden in a wheat field belonging to farmer Mr. David Shepherd at Calstone Wellington, Wiltshire on 20th July, 1988.
A similar design appeared on his farm during the summer of 1989 as well as many other in 1987, 90, 92, 93, 94, 95 and 1998.
