These three circles were discovered by an aircraft crew flying a mission inspecting the north sea gas line across southern England on the 5th September, 1987 - in wheat, they were located in a remote area near Beckhampton. Several other simple arrangements were also later found in the same area.

If the farmer was to know how many would appear on his land during the following 12 years, he would have probably have sold up and moved on.

Many will remember the famous BBC sound recorded during a television interview with Andrews and Delgado, which took place a couple of years later near this spot. The sound and the destruction of the TV camera at the same time, were never satisfactorily resolved.
