This very impressive single circle appeared
in oil seed rape at South Wonston, Hampshire on the 8th May, 1987. It was 14.42
metres dia and c/w.
Researched by Andrews/Delgado/Meaden/Taylor - full site data available from CPRI databases
in Connecticut, USA.
A strange bright daylight flash was witnessed here, during a normal sunny afternoon.
A dog near the entrance to the field was visibly disturbed at the same instant.
This site produced one of the first reports of new attachments. Approx. three weeks
after the circle arrived, Andrews returned alone to take a further look at some ground
details, when he found a wide winding path-way flowing into the circle. The oil seed
plants inside the pathway were flowing into the circle. He walked along the new
pathway, which lead way out into the field, all the time getting narrower and narrower as
it tapered to a point. He was forced to stop short of the point as his body was
wider that the access. The whole effect began at a spot which no person could have
reached without being dropped in by helicopter - a feature which impresses him to this
day.
Reported by Colin Andrews.
