The ring was 9.6 metres across and in wheat. Found by Busty Taylor while taking off from nearby Thruxton airfield. As he banked away over the village of Kimpton at grid ref: SU 285 467, on the 22nd of June 1987, he saw this ring. On landing he telephoned Colin Andrews, who
immediately drove to the area and after obtaining the farmers permission, walked with him
into the field. The farmer and Andrews found that the plants were bent over and
flowing in both directions and in the central core of the ring, were whiplashed and almost
shredded - an effect not seen since. Just feet away and some days later two small circles
also appeared. Local villagers reported strange buzzing sounds from the field and a
group of young football players driving through the village reported a bright orange light
above the field the same night it was thought to have arrived. A full account can be
seen in "Circular Evidence". Reported by Colin Andrews. |
