Another circle appeared here again on Ian Stevens' land.

This single circle was found at grid ref: SU 475 333 on the north side of the major A34 highway.  It was in cereals and measured 11.58 metres in diameter and swirled clockwise.  It was found by farm hand Ian Stevens, who had also found a quintuplet set on the farm in 1978 and inspected another in 1976 when a farm student discovered it on the northern edge of the farm.

Farmer Tim Brown has farmed at Headbourne Worthy all his life and his father some 40 years before him.  Mr. Brown told CPR that nobody ever saw how these circles appeared, but his father told him as a child about some mysterious circles on this land.  The information given by Mr. Brown was enough to repudiate later claims by hoaxers Doug Bowers and Dave Chorley, that they began the phenomenon in 1978 - they initially had said 1980 until they became aware of a the 1978 Headbourne Worthy event, published in "Circular Evidence".

Who made the circles Mr. Brown's father saw here 35 years before? and who made the circles in 1923-4 and 5 at nearby Cheesefoot Head, if D&D only showed up in 1978 ??  Both sites continue to see crop circles to this day.

Reported Colin Andrews.
