A quintuplet formed on one of Ian Stevens' field.

This is one of the oldest photographs of crop circles in existence.  It was taken by farm hand Ian Stevens at Headbourne Worthy after he had come across it during harvesting in 1978. He steered around the five circles until he could inform his family and encourage them to take a look at his discovery.  They were positioned near the railway line at Grid Ref: SU 481 329.  Mr. Stevens paced out the central circle and found it to be 18 strides across, approx... 18 metres dia, clockwise.

It comes  home to you just how long the circles have been around, when you consider that Mr. Stevens children, seen here in the field with their Mother, are both now married with children of their own.

Report by Colin Andrews.
